In what could be part of his political plans for 2019, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor recently met with four of five Iloilo members of the House of Representatives.
Defensor refused to divulge the purpose and result of the meeting last March 19, Iloilo-based news site The Daily Guardian reported.
He confirmed meeting with Reps. Arcadio Gorriceta (2nd district), Arthur Defensor Jr. (3rd district), Ferjenel Biron (4th district), and Raul Tupas (5th district), but not with Richard Garin (1st district).
The governor is expected to retire from politics when his term ends in 2019, amid speculation his son Rep. Defensor Jr. may take his place .
On the other hand, The Daily Guardian said the 2019 gubernatorial race could be a three-way fight among Defensor Jr., Biron, and Garin.
