Bangsamoro government Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim urged Tuesday, July 7, the various agencies in the region to plan their budget according to eight development goals identified in Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2020-2022.
He made the call during the budget forum dubbed as “2021 Bangsamoro Budget Call.”
The DBP includes the development of airports, tourism, forestry, land acquisition, among others.
“We should plan our operations so that all our programs, projects, and activities are geared towards the gradual achievement of those eight development goals,” said Ebrahim, who is also the Minister of Ministry of Finance and Budget Management (MFBM).
Among the eight development goals are establishing the foundations for inclusive, transparent, accountable, and efficient governance; upholding peace, security, public order and safety, and respect for human rights; and creating a favorable enabling environment for inclusive and sustainable economic development.
Ebrahim said the regional government also adopted the Cash Budgeting System (CBS) as well as the consolidation of autonomous regional funds to the Single Treasury Account, among others.
The CBS requires the appropriated budget to include “adequately planned and coordinated” programs, projects, and activities that will be delivered and executed within the fiscal year of 2021.
