Military seizes BIFF explosives in Maguindanao

The government troops have confiscated several explosives and subversive documents allegedly owned by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in Maguindanao.

Lt. Col. Edwin Alburo, commander of the 57th Infantry Battalion (IB), said a civilian gave the information to the military about the encampment of the Dawlah Islamiyah/BIFF in Barangay Pagatin 2, Shariff Saydona Mustapha.

The operating troops from the 57th IB seized Wednesday, February 26, eight improvised hand grenades and explosives, components, and subversive documents of the BIFF.

The troopers brought the recovered materials for safekeeping and documentation.

Clearing operations continue as the military pursues evading terrorist groups in Maguindanao.
