Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has urged the Dabawenyos to do their part to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease, otherwise, the “Davao Boat” will sink.
The local chief executive made the call after the lifting of the food and medicine (FM) pass and the curfew hour.
She raised concern that the people get too excited and forget about the health protocols, especially that the holiday season is approaching.
“We want the Dabawenyos to understand their responsibilities. We are all in the same boat – the Davao boat. Everyone has a task to do. If you don’t do your task, our boat will sink,” Duterte-Carpio said.
She reiterated the need for the people to stay at home, wear mask in public places, observe physical distancing, and handwashing.
The mayor said the Dabawenyos should make the four health measures as part of their daily habit.
