Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has warned the vendors in Roxas Night Market that they will be blacklisted if they violate the health protocols imposed by the city government.
The local chief executive issued the warning after the reopening of the Roxas Night Market Saturday, September 12.
“People must see how strict we are in implementing the health protocols. We should set as an example,” she said.
During the baseline swabbing of all vendors conducted three days before the reopening of the night market, Duterte-Carpio said that three individuals – two vendors and one security personnel – tested positive for the coronavirus.
She said the three are already in the temporary treatment and monitoring facility.
City Health Officer Dr. Josephine Villafuerte said just one offense done by the vendor, he or she will no longer be allowed to operate at the night market.
All vendors at the night market are required to wear a hairnet, face mask, and face shield at all times while working.
