Dabawenyos should continue to observe minimum public health standards even after vaccination against coronavirus disease, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said.
The local chief executive said following the minimum health protocols, such as wearing of face masks and face shields, frequent hand washing, and physical distancing is necessary until the city achieves herd immunity.
“The important thing to do right now is the emphasis on minimum public health standards and other COVID-19 health regulations and secondly, the prompt vaccination of our healthcare workers inside the hospitals,” she said.
Vaccination against Covid-19 has started in Davao City among the healthcare workers.
Duterte-Carpio said that more anti-Covid-19 vaccines from the national government and the city’s procurement from private firms are expected to arrive in the city in the coming days.
