Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has ordered all workers in the city to wear a face shield with a face mask in all the city government buildings and offices.
The local chief executive said the mandatory use of face shield with a face mask is also mandatory for people visiting city government offices and buildings, including the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), its camps and police stations.
Her directive is contained in Executive Order 65-A, also known as An Order Consolidating All the Issuances on the Use of Face Shields, which she signed Wednesday, December 2.
In her EO, Duterte-Carpio cited the issuances of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Memorandum Circular No. 2020-014 dated August 3, 2020, mandating the use of face shield with a face mask for all public transport passengers; and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Labor (DOLE) Joint Memorandum Circular No. 20-04-A dated August 15, 2020 that mandated the use of face shield with a face mask, as the premise of her new directive.
