Mayor Sara says Araw ng Dabaw a tribute to frontliners, law abiding Dabawenyos

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the 2021 Araw ng Dabaw was a tribute to all the frontliners and all law abiding Dabawenyos amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dabawenyos marked Araw ng Dabaw Monday, March 1, which was also declared as a special non-working day in the city.

“Let us remember that while Araw ng Dabaw has always been a joyous celebration of pomp and pageantry, it is, at its core, a celebration of and a salute to the Dabawenyo,” she said.

“And so, let this 2021 Araw ng Dabaw be a tribute to all our frontliners, to all whom we have lost this past year, and to each Dabawenyo abiding by the protocols set in place to ensure each other’s safety, for it is our grit, our tenacity, and our discipline that will see us through to the end of this pandemic, in the hopes that we may one day safely celebrate our Araw ng Dabaw in the streets once more,” Duterte-Carpio said.
