Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has ordered the mandatory use of face shields in some offices and establishments to contain the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Under Executive Order No. 47 issued on August 4, the local chief executive said face shields are optional to the general public.
However, she said the face shields are mandatory for offices and establishments where there is a high volume of people moving inside the premises and where the job of the worker puts him in close contact with other individuals.
The mayor also said that rapid testing kits should not be used as a tool to clear an employee back to work.
If the doctor’s opinion is to require testing, the RT-PCR test shall be used as the standard, she said.
