Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said that Paquibato district, which was tagged as a conflict area, is now open for business.
The local chief executive made the statement after over 500 bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts participated Sunday, June 10, in the “Ride for Peace” caravan in Paquibato road to show that the area has remained safe.
“This is a way to show to everybody that Paquibato is now ready for tourists and investors now that we have a good road connectivity,” Duterte-Carpio said.
She also thanked the 1003rd Infantry Brigade for showing to the public that the area is now open for investment and further development.
Col. Ernesto Torres, 1003rd Brigade commander, expressed gratitude to the city government for its support for the military efforts in Paquibato.
“I think because of what we have done, we are able to send a message to the public that Paquibato district area is already ready for Peace and Development,” he said.
