Mayor Sara orders strict enforcement of community quarantine in Davao Region


Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, chairperson of the Davao Region COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) Task Force, ordered Thursday, March 19, all the military and police personnel manning the checkpoints in the region to ensure that the community quarantine is strictly implemented.

The Davao Region has been placed under lockdown for 14 days or until April 1 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“Under the highest WHO/DOH (World Health Organization/Department of Health) Alert Level on COVID-19, whereby sustained local transmission has been validated, the stay at home rule should be strictly followed by all,” the presidential daughter said.

With this, she said that travel shall only be allowed for the following:

* One individual who goes to and from work;

* Two individuals who will buy food or medicines; and

* Three individuals who are going to the the hospital or in an emergency situation.
