Mayor Sara lifts food and medicine pass, curfew starting Aug. 3

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Friday, July 31, that food and medicine (FM) pass and curfew hour will be lifted starting next week as the city remains under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

With the lifting of the FM pass and the curfew hour starting Monday, August 3, Duterte-Carpio said she still expects the Dabawenyos to practice self-regulation.

She also reminded the residents to still keep their FM pass for possible use of the FM system depending on their compliance to minimum health standards.

“We want people to self-regulate. Meaning, they know that there is a quarantine, there is a stay at home, but there will be no regulation to make sure that they stay at home. We want people to understand that this must come from them,” she said.

Duterte-Carpio also said that activities outside their homes are for essential purposes only.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has maintained Davao City under MGCQ from August 1-15.
