Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has assured the Dabawenyos that the city has enough funds for their needs in the wake of the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The response funds will come from the city’s Peace and Order Fund and the Crisis Intervention Fund, said the local chief executive, who almost regularly goes on air to update Dabawenyos about the city’s response to Covid-19.
“Kanang duha [Peace and Order Fund and the Crisis Intervention Fund] ang atoang sources sa atoang mga ginahimo na mga lakang diri sa siyudad sa Davao (Those two-Peace and Order Fund and the Crisis Intervention Fund are our sources for our measures in the city),” she said.
She said the two fund sources are enough to support the Covid-19 operations. She recalled that the city’s Peace and Order Fund has one of the biggest appropriations of the annual budget.
Duterte-Carpio, however, added that the city will still reserve a budget exclusive for other possible calamities like earthquakes, typhoons, and other emergency occurrences. #
