Mayor Rivera plants trees as GenSan marks environmental month

General Santos City Mayor Ronnel Rivera has led the city government in celebrating the Environmental Awareness and National Clean Air Month.

Rivera, together with his wife Jane and other local officials, took part in the New Normal Challenge: Sustainable Actions for a Sustainable Future and showed awareness on the importance of environmental conservation as they planted indigenous trees at Carlos P. Garcia Park Oval Plaza Grounds Sunday, November 29.

November is declared an Environmental Awareness Month.

“The city government with the help of the CENRO (City Environment and Natural Resources Office) responded to this mandate through its continued environmental programs and engagements even in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the local government said.
