Mayor Rivera inks MOU with CDC, CIAC, SCAD

General Santos City Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with three state-run corporations to further enhance trade, investment and tourism.

Rivera forged the MOU with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) president/CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan, Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) president/CEO Aaron. N. Aquino, and Subic-Clark Alliance for Development (SCAD) chairman Vivencio B. Dizon during the hybrid signing event held at Avior Hotel in GenSan Friday, October 22.

“Today, we will officially seal an agreement that will benefit from this collaboration that will enhance trade, investment, and tourism activities and ensure convenient and efficient delivery of meaningful services to our respective stakeholders,” the mayor said.

“In our pursuit to bring General Santos City to its greater heights, we at the Local Government never stop looking beyond our resources. We extend our efforts to introduce new developments and further enhance what we are already capable of doing,” he added.

Among those who witnessed the signing ceremony were Rep. Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles, Dennis Legaspi of CDC, and USAID Project Coordinator Gemma Borreros.

“Totoo po na nako-connect tayo ngayon ng internet pero hindi po mapapalitan yung personal relationship na ma-establish when you see each other face-to-face. This pandemic caused us a lot of displacement, a lot of stress, but I hope we maintain our partnership in the future na ma-connect din tayo not only through the internet but yung connecting flights,” Gaerlan said.
