Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon has given his go signal for the construction of houses in the 14-hectare housing project in Mankilam.
Rellon, along with Vice Mayor Eva Lorraine Estabillo, 1st District Board Member Rod Laguna, city officials, department heads, and city employees, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the building of houses of the Phase I and II of the Mankilam Tagumpay Village Thursday, November 25.
The housing project is one of the banner programs of the Rellon administration, which is being led by the City Housing and Land Management Office (CHLMO).
The 848 beneficiaries of the Mankilam Tagumpay Village will receive a standard 60-square meter lot each and will only have to pay P5 per sq. m. monthly for the next five years.
“The groundbreaking ceremony serves as a go signal for beneficiaries to start building their dream homes,” the city government said. However, they will have to shoulder the expenses on raw materials.
But Rellon told the beneficiaries that they can ask for assistance from the local government subject to availability of needed materials.
The land development is set to start next year, according to a CHLMO official. #
