Iligan City Mayor Celso Regencia placed Friday, March 20, the city under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until April 10.
Under Executive Order No. 32 containing the order on ECQ, the mayor ordered strict home quarantine in all households while movement shall be limited to accessing basic necessities.
“Work from home arrangement shall be implemented by private establishments except those providing basic necessities, i.e. public markets, supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, hospitals, medical clinics, pharmacies and drug stores, food preparation and delivery services, water refilling stations, manufacturing and processing plants of basic food products and medicines, banks, cooperatives, money transfer services, power, energy, water and telecommunications supplies and facilities,” he said.
He said the management of the exempted establishments should ensure the adoption of a strict skeletal workforce to support operations, as well as social distancing measures.
Other measures under the EO are enjoining the residents of Iligan to cease from panic-buying and hoarding basic commodities; regulating the number of commodities purchased by consumers; and allowing only media (licensed by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas), medical, uniformed personnel, and those authorized, who secured an identification card from the local government, to travel within the city, among others. #
