Mayor Regencia checks progress of Iligan City’s waste water treatment facility


Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia has inspected the progress of the Waste Water Treatment Facility located in Iligan City Material Recovery Facility (ICMRF) at Sitio Bangko, Brgy. Bonbonon.

The development of the P23-million facility was hampered due to coronavirus disease pandemic. This was after its groundbreaking ceremony held on Nov. 19, 2020.

ICMRF Engr. Celso Layos said the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) plans to include the project as a good example of “remediating the environmental health and disaster impacts” for their incoming national competition.

Joining Regencia in the inspection were Vice Mayor Jemar “Monsi” Vera Cruz, Councilor Petronilo “Noli” G. Pardillo , and City Administrator Leony Roy G. Ga, among others.
