Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat has ordered the imposition of a curfew and a ban on selling and drinking of alcoholic beverages in public places.
The directive is part of Executive Order No. 12, series of 2022, which Rabat issued Thursday, January 13, entitled, “Adapting Department of Health Circular No. 581, series of 2021, Re: Reminders on mitigation strategies and implementation of health protocols for possible Covid-19 Omicron variant community transmission; and other IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force) resolutions, for the City of Mati.”
“As observed in the last few weeks, there has been an increasing number of vehicular accidents particularly among minors who are intoxicated with alcohol. The City of Mati will impose a curfew to all ages starting 12:00 midnight until 4:00 AM the following day,” the mayor said in the EO.
She also said that selling and drinking of alcoholic beverages in public places are strictly prohibited.
Rabat also ordered all the public transportation services, whether land, water or air, to require all their eligible workers to be fully vaccinated. Their vaccination card should be prominently displayed in their vehicle for everyone to see.
