Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat, along with the officials of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), led Wednesday, July 28, the groundbreaking for the construction of a new fire station in the city.
The mayor laid down the capsule to signal the start of the establishment of the modern fire station located in a 1,000-square meter lot along Magapo.
The local government donated the lot, fence, and two water reservoirs to the Mati BFP.
The national government has provided the P19-million fund for the BFP’s typical city Class C fire station.
Rabat thanked the previous administration of then Mayor Carlo Rabat for having the foresight of purchasing the lot where the fire station will stand.
