Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has called on the people of Davao to remain united in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic as the city yesterday started its three-day Kadayawan Digital Festival.
“Patuloy na magkaisa, labanan natin ang pandemya! Happy Kadayawan sa inyong tanan!” Mayor Inday Sara said in a short video posted on her Facebook page.
“Mag-ingat po tayo palagi!” she added.
Mayor Inday said that despite the pandemic, the people of Davao should be able to celebrate, albeit online, the cultural heritage of Davao.
In her recorded message at the festival’s opening ceremonies yesterday, the lady mayor lauded the Dabawenyos for their resiliency and courage — Filipino traits that were passed on from generation to generation.
“Therefore, it is only fitting that we continue to honor the wealth of our culture, and recognize the numerous contributions of our people from generations past,” the mayor pointed out.
Shen then invited everyone to celebrate with the Dabawenyos and watch the various activities to be aired online and celebrate.

In a related post, the Mayor Inday Sara reminded her constituents to keep the faith in this difficult phase in the lives of all Filipinos.
“During times like this, let’s put more faith in our prayer,” Mayor Inday wrote as she shared a photo of her lighting a candle outside a church.
