The Isabela City government joined Thursday, November 26, the kick-off program of this year’s “Mindanao Week of Peace” with the theme “Continuing Peace Advocacy Amidst the Current Covid-19 Pandemic.”
Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman, in her “I Am For Peace” video, greeted peace to all of the stakeholders and partners of Isabela City local government in upkeeping the waves of peace.
Artworks of children of war were hanged and displayed in city tricycles as symbolism of the continuing hope and cry for peace in Mindanao.
Mindanao Week of Peace is a week-long activity celebrated across Mindanao from the last Thursday of November until the first Wednesday of December.
The celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 127, which provides that all government agencies and its instrumentalities, as well as the civil society based in Mindanao, are enjoined and encouraged to engage in relevant and meaningful activities in this annual celebration.
