Marawi City Mayor Majul U. Gandamra has issued an executive order imposing new curfew hours in the city, which has been placed under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), along with the entire province of Lanao del Sur due to high cases of coronavirus disease.
“Curfew hours shall be strictly imposed upon any person within the territorial jurisdiction of the Islamic City of Marawi starting from 6:00 o’clock in the evening up to 4:30 in the morning, except to the Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) or those individuals who need immediate medical attention and/or intervention,” EO No. 2020-042 read.
The EO took effect Friday, October 2, and will be imposed until October 31.
The same Order said that the city government would authorize the deployment of e-trikes and designated public utility vehicles (PUV) to cater the needs of the riding public for essential movements.
Since Lanao del Sur, which includes Marawi City, has been under MECQ, the provincial Inter-Agency Task Force has suspended the operation of PUVs, including tricycles, pedicabs, and the like within the duration of the MECQ.
Gandamra warned that violators of the EO shall face appropriate charges.
