Mayor Evangelista vows aid for construction of temporary classrooms for fire-hit school in Kidapawan

The Kidapawan City government would help in establishing temporary learning centers for New Bohol Elementary School after a fire hit some of its classrooms, said Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista.

The local chief executive personally made the assurance to the teachers and parents of the students during his visit at the school.

Five classrooms worth P2.5 million and other instructional materials were hit by fire on April 19, affecting some 188 students from Grades 2 to 6.

The construction of the makeshift classrooms would start on May 6, the city government said.

Investigation has been ongoing to determine the cause of fire.
