Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista has expressed gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte for the P15-million fund for the rehabilitation and beautification of the three-kilometer center islands in Quezon Boulevard.
The fund came from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), which spearheaded the “Green, Green, Green Program” for “livable and sustainable” 145 cities, including Kidapawan.
“In behalf of the people of Kidapawan City, our heartfelt thanks to President Duterte through the Department of Budget and Management for allocating the funds for the rehabilitation and beautification of our center islands, which we consider an iconic landmark of the city,” Evangelista said.
“Naisa-ayos at napaganda ng proyekto ang bahagi ng iconic center islands mula sa tapat ng Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces Cathedral hanggang sa may CAP Building ng Quezon Boulevard,” the city government said.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, it said the project, which started in September was completed last December.
