The Kidapawan City government has earmarked over P15 million for the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) subsidy for the students in public schools in the city.
Mayor Joesph Evangelista has started distributing the PTA subsidy of P400 for each of the students in Kindergaten up to senior high school.
A total of 38,380 enrolled students would benefit from the subsidy, according to the City Schools Division of the Department of Education (DepEd).
“Sa P400 na subsidy, P100 ang ilalaan sa bawat homeroom projects ng mga estudyante samantalang ang natitirang P300 ay para naman sa mga proyekto ng PTA at iba pang development programs sa public school,” the city government said.
Evangelista said the PTA subsidy, which came from the Special Education Fund of the city government, aims to increase also the number of enrollees in the schools.
He vowed to increase the amount of subsidy by P1.2 million next year to include day care students.
