Mayor Evangelista asks residents to join in simultaneous Christmas lighting activities to honor frontliners
Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista has urged the residents to participate in the simultaneous ceremonial lighting of Christmas and other decorative lights next week as a tribute to all frontliners in the city.
The ceremonial lighting scheduled at 6 p.m. on December 1 is meant to give tribute to all frontliners in the city who gave their “unconditional time and effort for the benefit of our people,” the mayor said.
“Our frontliners served and continue to serve as our shining light during the present pandemic,” he added.
For those who will participate in the ceremonial lighting cum online video contest, the city government said they have to take a short video of their residence/office/business establishment while the Christmas and other decorative lights in their premises are being “switched on.”
The switching on must be simultaneous with the ceremonial lighting conducted by the city government.
Three winners will be chosen – P3,000 for first prize; P2,000 for second prize; and P1,000 for 3rd prize.
