Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has led the inauguration of the P24.8-million newly constructed three-storey school building at Vitali National High School in the east coast.
The local government said that the GHR Construction built the building, amounting to P24,775,959.07.
It is a 15-classroom building, which boasts of modern design that can withstand climate change weather conditions, it said.
Climaco said the new design incorporates rainwater collectors, which can be of help during dry season, for the comfort rooms.
The roofs, doors and windows were designed to allow the passage of air and to provide a more conducive learning space to schoolchildren.
The mayor said the city government under her administration had allocated last year P322.80 million for the construction of climate change-resilient school buildings in the different barangays.
