Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco, together with 1st District Rep. Jawo Jimenez, has led the turnover of a new school building at the Zamboanga City High School-main in Tetuan.
The newly-constructed 4-storey, 20-classroom building was the third educational facility to be turned over this week.
In her message during the event held Friday, September 10, Climaco reaffirmed her commitment to education under her flagship program Security Health and Education or SHE.
The building is another climate-resilient facility which the Climaco administration rolled out prior to the pandemic.
Early this week, two similar climate-resilient school buildings were turned over to the Department of Education (DepEd) for Canelar Elementary School and Pasobolong Elementary School.
The DepEd implements blended learning for students amid the pandemic but the school building project is in preparation for possible limited face-to-face classes subject to the decision of the national government, the city government said.
Also present during the event were Councilor Pinpin Pareja, DepEd 9 representatives, ZCHS-main administration and teachers and Tetuan Barangay officials among others.
