Mayor Climaco thanks outgoing city police chief for zero bombing, kidnapping incidents in Zamboanga

Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has expressed her gratitude to outgoing City Police Office (CPO) chief Col. Joseph Thomas Martir for his services to the Zamboangueños.

Climaco, together with Councilor Pinpin Pareha, presented Thursday, August 13, a certificate of appreciation to Martir during his exit call.

“Thank you PCol. Joseph Thomas Martir for your dedication and commitment to serve Zamboanga City,” she said.

Martir started his stint in the city in December 2018.

Climaco said under Martir’s watch, the city maintained its record of zero bombing, zero kidnapping, and zero piracy incidents and “made remarkable achievements in the anti-drug campaign.”

Martir will be reassigned to the Police Regional Office while waiting for his next designation.

An officer-in-charge for the Zamboanga CPO will be named soon, Climaco said.
