Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has expressed gratitude to Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School (DPLMHS) and Sta. Maria Barangay Council for allowing the city government to establish a quarantine facility for suspected coronavirus disease cases in the village.
Climaco recently inspected the DPLMHS gymnasium, which has been converted into a 100-bed capacity quarantine facility.
She also recognized the efforts of other barangays for agreeing to host either a quarantine or isolation facility, such as the San Jose Gusu and Pasonanca.
The mayor said the support and cooperation of the barangays in the Covid-19 response efforts, is proof that the city is fighting coronavirus through the whole of government and whole of city approach.
The alarming increase in Covid-19 cases in the city prompted the city government to set up more isolation and quarantine facilities to accommodate patients who do not require medical attention from hospitals and or medical facilities.
