Mayor Climaco seeks nat’l government’s intervention on LSIs staying in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has appealed to the national government to intervene as more locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Manila and Cebu have been stuck in the city after their respective local government units (LGUs) have stopped accepting them.

“This poses a problem to the city and we hope to ask the national government to intervene so that these individuals will be able to go home safe and sound,” Climaco said.

She said the LSIs were supposed to go home to their respective provinces but are currently staying over in the city because their LGUs do not accept their residents for fear of coronavirus contagion.

Climaco said the current health crisis demands the support and cooperation of everyone.
