Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has consulted with various department heads of the city government for their inputs for her upcoming 7th State of the City Address (SOCA) next week.
According to the local government, the inputs would include each department’s achievements during the year that was, its plans and programs for the year to come.
“These will be collated to form part of the mayor’s speech,” it said.
The city government also said that in the SOCA on January 14, Climaco is expected to take pride in her administration’s achievements vis-a-vis the plans and programs laid down in her previous report, traffic and transportation issues, and the continued economic growth of the city.
The SOCA has been a tradition that started during the incumbency of the late mayor Maria Clara L. Lobregat, in which the chief executive will report to the local legislature on her/his administration’s achievements during the past year, plans and programs for the coming years.
Primarily, the SOCA provides the chief executive the opportunity to personally seek local legislators’ individual and collective support to her/his agenda, especially the passage of priority ordinances that would push forward her administration’s plans, programs and activities in the coming years.
