The city government has donated P3 million to the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) to support the operation of the facility amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar turned over on Tuesday the P3 million check to Department of Health (DOH) 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) Director Emilia Monicimpo, concurrent chief of ZCMC.
The outpatient department of the ZCMC, a DOH-retained hospital, has been converted into a Covid-19 referral facility when the dreaded disease spreads into this city.
“With health as its priority program, the LGU (local government unit) will be with ZCMC in the forefront to fight the Covid-19 pandemic,” Salazar said Thursday.
The ZCMC’s Covid-19 referral facility started operating on April 6.
