Mayor Climaco raises concern over high gasoline prices in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has sought the help of the national government for measures to lower gasoline prices in the city.

“Please help us in ZC, we currently have the highest surge and sadly highest gas price. We need your SOS to lower it to help our people,” said Climaco on her Facebook page, citing her text message to Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista, Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Region IX.

She expressed dismay over the high gasoline prices that range between P61 and over P67 per liter.

Climaco said Bautista promised to bring her concern to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and the concerned Cabinet officials.

The mayor said she also raised the same concern to Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
