Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has lamented the utter disregard of some Zamboangueños on the health protocols with the average apprehensions of between 200 and 300 quarantine violators daily.
The local chief executive noted that last Sunday, July 26, a number of people in the barangays were out on the streets despite the general community quarantine (GCQ) in the city.
“This is a clear manifestation that a number of people continue to ignore our anti-Covid health protocols,” she said.
The mayor reiterated her appeal to the residents in the city to follow the quarantine health protocols as the Covid-19 cases in the city continue to increase.
She reminded the public that under the GCQ, movements of people are controlled, following the quarantine pass policy, wearing of face mask and social distancing at all times.
Except for the frontliners, Climaco advised the people to remain at home and may only leave to access essentials.
