Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has thanked those who responded in a fire that hit an abandoned 4-storey building in the city Wednesday, September 16.
Climaco, along with Councilor El King Omaga, personally proceeded to Climaco Avenue intersection Jaldon Street to facilitate response in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection.
“Mayor Climaco thanked those who responded including the KCC and other private groups that helped provide water tankers,” the city government said.
The abandoned building, which was razed by fire, was occupied before by the Universal College.
The city government said no one was hurt in the incident but damage to property was estimated to reach P1 million.
The fire was placed under control in less than an hour.
