Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco led Tuesday, October 27, the distribution of livelihood assistance to over 100 indigent beneficiaries.
The city is a recipient of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) pilot program on Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) complementing the government’s coronavirus disease recovery activities.
“A total of P1,090,000. was released to 109 indigent families who were identified and selected by social workers in the field for self-employment and the Public Employment Service office (PESO) for employment facilitation purposes based on the criteria set by the DSWD-SLP,” the city government said.
Each beneficiary received P10,000.
The city government reminded the beneficiaries to use properly the livelihood assistance to achieve sustainable income.
The DSWD and the social workers of the different field offices will do the proper monitoring of the livelihood projects.
