Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco has led the inspection of the initial survey activities of the Office of the City Engineer for the proposed New International Airport Development Project in the east coast.
The local government started the preparatory surveying activities Monday, April 11, with the delivery of surveying equipment from Manila-based suppliers, Climaco said.
With the on-going survey activities, the local government aims to begin appraisal of land parcels by May 2022, she said.
The city government and the Department of Transportation entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the utilization of the P200-million fund for the proposed New Zamboanga International Airport Development Project (NZIADP).
The Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), through an agency-to-agency agreement, was issued a Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the appraisal of affected land parcels at the proposed airport site. Initial appraisal report by LBP is expected for submission to the city government before June 10 this year.
The proposed NZIAD is a priority project of the city government pursuant to the city’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
