The Mati City Agriculture Office (CAO) has turned over more than P10-million worth of agricultural projects and equipment to different beneficiaries recently.
The items, which were distributed during the celebration of the 19th Pujada Bay Festival and 15th Cityhood Day in Mati City from June 13-19, include three units of modern agriculture facilities and inputs.
The Department of Agriculture Field Office XI (DA-XI) funded the projects and equipment through the Bayanihan II stimulus package for agriculture programs. The city government also gave its counterpart.
The different components provided by CAO include greenhouse with fence, hydroponics system with complete accessories, aquaponics system with complete accessories, solar pump with complete accessories, platform with plastic drum and mounting frame for solar panels, farm tools, organic inputs and assorted vegetable seeds.
Among the beneficiaries were the Dasdas Badas 4th Club, Ramon Antonio Village Homeowners Association, Inc., Purok Pag-asa, and Maitum Women’s Association.
The project cost for the hydroponics, aquaponics, solar pump and others reached to P2,748,399.38. The greenhouse project cost P2,615,972.03 with each greenhouse costing P871, 990.67.
A wing van from the Food of Ani at Kita Program of the DA-XI was also turned over amounting to P5 million.
Some 2,750 Cardava seedlings were also donated to the Barangay Tamisan Banana Growers Association while 100 heads upgraded native baby pullet and stag were extended to 20 beneficiaries and 39 multiple handling fishing gear were turned over for fishery livelihood. #
