Authorities collared Sunday, February 25, five people, including the widow of slain Jemaah Islamiyah leader Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan, in Lanao del Norte.
Police Chief Supt. Timoteo Gascon Pacleb, regional director of Region Police Office 10, said Juromee Dongon, alias Tata, Saynab, was arrested when the police raided an establishment in Purok 5, Poblacion in Tubod town by virtue of a search warrant.
Dongon was also said to be the wife of Abu Sayyaf leader Khadaffy Janjalani who was killed in 2006.
Also nabbed were Dongon’s sister Lorilie Atta and her husband, Senior Police Officer 4 Andy Atta.
In a separate operation on the same day at Sitio Tinago, Brgy. San Juan in Baroy town, police also apprehended Dongon’s father and sister, namely Romeo Dongon and Norein Santos, respectively.
In both raids, authorities confiscated firearms, pieces of ammunition and materials used in making explosives.
Pacleb said the five individuals would be charged for violation of illegal possession of explosives and of firearms.
Marwan was killed in January 2015 when members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) launched an operation in Maguindanao.
But 44 police commandos were also killed when they were retreating in Mamasapano town.
