The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has spearheaded a mangrove planting activity in Bislig City.
Specifically, the Community Environment and Natural Resource Office (CENRO) led the activity in Purok 5, Poblacion, Bislig City on August 13, Tuesday.
The city government said the tree planting was in line with the DENR activity on “Recognizing Individuals /Institutions towards Vibrant and Balanced Rivers” (RIVERS) for life program, which aims to encourage active participation of local communities and agencies on environmental protection. .
Those who participated in the event were the Local Government Unit- Bislig (LGU), Barangay Local Government Unit- Bislig (BLGU), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine National Police-Bislig (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), 75th Infantry Battalion Philippine Army, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Mechanized Modernized Forest Nursery (MMFN), Forest and Wetland Research, Development and Extension Center (FWRDEC), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP),and other government and non-government agencies.
