LTFRB unveils 1st public transport route plan in GenSan


The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has launched the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP), which is part of its PUV (public utility vehicle) Modernization Program, in General Santos City.

Vice Mayor Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles said that the city was the recipient of the first approved LPTRP in the country.

LTFRB chairman Martin B. Delgra III, who was present during the event, assured all the tricycle drivers of the government’s assistance.

“There are 14 routes and over 800 units. Hindi ibig sabihin na mauubos ang tricycle, there will always be a place for all types of public transport,” he said.

During the event held recently at the Oval Court, six electrical jeepneys were launched.

The electrical jeepneys are fuel efficient and equipped with CCTV cameras for the safety of the passengers.
