Like a chicken before Noche Buena: PNP chief ‘Bato’ threatens to break neck of corrupt police officers
Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa literally threatened to break the neck of police officers involved in corruption.
He made the statement Monday, November 14 even as he admitted that some policemen are using the war on drugs to perpetrate their illegal activities.
Dela Rosa said that these corrupt policemen approach their victims, telling them that they will be investigated for drugs and extort money from them.
If these miscreants goal are to “neutralize” drug personalities, their punishment will be double and harsher than those of the drug pushers, he said, adding that he needs public assistance to eliminate these scalawags in uniform.
Dela Rosa said that he would prioritize the filing of charges against rogue police officers over drug personalities.
