The provincial government of Lanao del Sur has deployed some 200 individuals to help in the monitoring of the “Listahan” or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR).
NHTS-PR is an information management system that identifies who and where the vulnerable sectors are in the country. The system makes available to national government agencies and other social protection stakeholders.
The local government said the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has hired and trained 200 monitors for the programs.
The monitors have been deployed in their respective areas.
“Through the Provincial Monitoring Team, we will ensure that the data we shall gather are accurate and are based on the output of the one-on-one interview with every household,” said PSWD Officer Maharlanny M. Alonto.
“One of the main objectives of the program is to create a database where all vulnerable sectors are documented, their needs and issues are recorded, and in that way, government may use it in formulating policies and implementing social interventions,” Yaksan A. Pagayawan, one of the area coordinators, said.
