Lanao del Norte provincial government has conducted a two-day Incident Command System (ICS) simulation exercise in preparation for the 60th Araw ng Lanao del Norte.
Jim Fajardo, ICS focal person of the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Region 10, partner of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), in the simulation exercise, asked the participants to present the day-to-day activities for the week-long celebration from June 28 until July 4.
The local government said that ICS members identified the possible threats during the celebration and the actions to prevent these from happening.
“All possible scenarios were presented in order to anticipate, prepare and mitigate the impact of the incident. The Incident Management Team will be on standby and ready to respond to any incident,” it said.
Based on the anticipated scenarios, ICS came up with four objectives: to ensure the safety of responders and the general public; to respond during emergencies; to provide medical assistance during activities; and to provide traffic management during the activities.
