Japan donates classrooms to Davao City public elementary school


Japan has turnover P5.37-million newly constructed school building for a public elementary school in Davao City.

The Project for the Construction of Classrooms for Catalunan Grande Elementary School was funded under the Japan-Bangsamoro Initiative for Reconstruction and Development (J-BIRD) and through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GPP).

The Philam Foundation, Inc. was the project implementer.

The grant covered the construction of six classrooms and provision of furniture and fixtures, which would directly benefit 350 students of Catalunan Grande Elementary School, the Japanese Embassy said.

Consul General Yoshiaki Miwa and First Secretary Manabu Yasukawa of the Embassy of Japan attended the event Wednesday, August 28.
