Iwas COVID-19! Tagum registrar’s office to hold per barangay free registration instead of one-day only

The city government of Tagum has canceled the one-day free registration for birth certificates and other Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-related documents supposedly slated on February 27.

According to the City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO), the decision was reached following the advice of the Department of Health (DOH) discouraging activities that would bring together many people amid the threats of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“As a precautionary measure relating to COVID-19, the City Civil Registrar’s Office concurs with the LGU (local government unit) in its current statement pertaining to the DOH advisory on discouraging activities that would gather large crowds,” it said.

The CCRO said instead of one day free registration, the schedule would be per barangay starting February 17 until February 26.
