Isabela City prepares for ‘Undas’; reminds public of the prohibited acts

The city government of Isabela in Basilan province has reminded the public of the prohibited acts during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days on November 1 and 2, respectively, inside the cemeteries.

According to the local government, alcoholic beverages, deadly weapons, excessive noise, gambling, and videoke are not allowed inside the cemetery premises.

Traffic rerouting will also be implemented in La Piedad Catholic Cemetery, Basilan Chinese Filipino Association Memorial Cemetery, and Lanote Masonic & Lanote Public Cemetery.

The local police will also enforce the “no parking policy” along the roads leading to the cemeteries.

The local government also reminded the private land owners that they could not collect mandatory parking fees unless they can produce business permits.

Parking fees should be strictly voluntary basis on the part of the motorists, it said.

The city government personnel had also conducted a clean up drive in various cemeteries in preparation for the “Undas.”
