The Isabela City COVID-19 Task Force has started to tighten its monitoring of the travelers entering its seaport to ensure that the coronavirus disease would not spread in the city.
The local government has formed the task force pursuant to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular 2020-18, through a joint resolution of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Local Health Board.
The task force led by City Health Officer Dr Mohrein Ismael VI and Rural Health Unit East Dr. Rehab Hayre, together with Philippine Coast Guard – Isabela City Sub-station and CDRRMO Emergency Medical Service, have undertaken prescribed health screening of incoming passengers following DOH-protocols on all travelers coming in from COVID19-affected countries.
On Friday, February 14, the task force checked the boat, which ferried 108 passengers and crew from Taganak Island in Tawi-Tawi and most of whom were traders in Sabah, the city government said. #
